ACCIONA Energy is the global renewables operator present in the most clean technologies and countries. It has taken on the mission to demonstrate the technical and economic viability of a new energy model based on sustainability criteria.
It has 20 years of experience in the industry and a workforce of 2,000 professionals. It is present in 20 countries, with operational facilities in 14 of them.
With its activity focused on wind power, it is one of the world's largest wind power producers and developers and designs and manufactures wind turbine generators with home-grown technology, through ACCIONA Windpower.
ACCIONA Energy also has a significant presence in the following renewables-based energy generation technologies: hydro, solar thermal and photovoltaic and biomass, as well as producing biofuels (biodiesel and bioethanol). It also owns cogeneration assets as well as producing hydrogen through wind power.
ACCIONA Energy's activities include energy sales, carried out through its subsidiary ACCIONA Green Energy Developments, which manages the sale of electrical energy produced at the Group's facilities to end clients.
ACCIONA Energy is also positioned as a provider of charging infrastructure for Electric Vehicles. The Company has developed an integrated system which covers not only the installation of charging points but also their operation, as well as providing associated information and management services.
ACCIONA Energy invested 36 million euros in R&D and Innovation in 2010. It has a Technology Center in Navarre (Spain) which is the hub of the ACCIONA's renewables innovation activity.
